Through out novel, there were many conflicts and problems. The problems didn't stop until the end of the book when everything got resolved. I really liked how the end of the book went because i never would have expected that the ending was so dramatic. It really caught my attention and i would read that novel again. When i was reading the novel, i thought that Parker did get raped, just like everyone else thought. But in the book, Parker did say she didn't raped, so after that i had no clue. Books like this are very well done and i think the ending makes everything think about that situation.

I think the ending was realistic and believable because it is something that would happen to teenagers at parties today. Parties do go out of hand, and you should think of the worst most of the time because these situations are possible. From experience, some parties i have gone to, things do turn out bad. Like cops coming, fights breaking out or everyone getting kicked out. You should always be aware of what could happen. The ending of the novel was a strong ending and i know for me it really got my thinking about a lots of things.

I really did enjoy reading this novel, and i do recomend this book to other students. This book had me thinking through-out this whole book because i always had a thought of what was going to happen but when i was wrong i didn't know what to think. The author wrote very well and she kept your attention through the whole book. I never wanted to put down my book because she always kept you thinking and interested in the book. I think this novel was related to teenagers today, and its good to be aware of different situations. :)

Through out my novel, Parker is confronted with a lot of problems. Her boy toy Jake, her family and other friends always tells her that she needs help, but she never wants to agree with them. Parker again, cant control her feelings and its very hard for her to handle them good. She either freaks out, has an anxiety attack, runs away from everyone or throws up. Parker is very strong mindedness and whatever she thinks, she knows is right.

One example in the novel where she is confronted about a problem would be at the end when the school year is over and all of her friends go away to school to College or University. Parker does stay back and she finally understands that she needs help, and she okay with that. This is the only time in the book that she knows she has a problem and she knows it needs to be fixed. At the beginning of the novel Parker didn't like anyone's ideas, opinions or suggestions. But she grew so much to the end because now she knows everything she did was not helping anyone.

Question:

Have you ever been stubborn with a situation where you knew you did something wrong but you just wont admit it? If you are comfortable, tell what you were stubborn about.

Throughout this novel Parker has so many personality traits....
At the beginning she is still shocked and scared of what happened at the party, she slowly gets comfortable at school again with her teachers , parents and friends. Parker is a tough girl that cant always deal with her emotions very well. When she gets upset she reacts in a serious way by, running away, throwing up, or she goes into an anxiety attack. Parker is very independant because she doesnt want to get involved with many of the students at school. With her guidance counsilor, she isn't that open with her and she likes to keep everything to herself. Parker is very independant, outspoken, down to earth and emotional. She is also very secret about herself. Parker's parents are always trying to ask her about school, what her plans are for the night, where she is going and when she will be home, but Parker always leaves them hanging and never tells them anythings. When Parker and Jake met, Jake started to have feelings for her but Parker wouldn't accept those feelings as good feelings. Jake would always try to figure her out and get into her life story but Parker would hide or avoid most of it.

Parker does have many flaws....Parker can't handle bad situations in a good way. She tends to harm herself or she harms others. I think that she can't control her emotions sometimes and she needs help with her emotions but she doesn't like admitting that she needs help, so its hard for herself. She knows that she needs help but she doesn't like it when people try to help her.

If you knew that you had a problem like not being able to control your feelings, would you want to get help? Would you open up and ask for help?

cracked up to be is about a teenage girl, Parker who has had a bad experience at a party. Parker was the head cheerleading captain, a popular good looking student in her school. She had everything going for her until she made one mistake that could jeopardize her graduating school. Parker had a relationship with her best friend Chris until they ended it when she stole money from him. They still decided to be friends as they still had feelings for each other. Parker met a new student at her school, Jake, and they both had interest in each other. Parker has weekly meetings with her guidance counsellor and principle to help her recover from her disaster at the party.

As the novel begins Parker is back in school living with the regret that she went through that one night. She has to regain her confidence and popularity with her friends, teachers, and peers. For the first problem that is faced by the main character is when Parker meets the new kid Jake. Jake tries to get very personal with her life and he wants to figure her out as best as possible with her. As he gets more interested in her all he wants is to find out what happened that night at the party and he really wants her to like him as much as he likes her, so they can have a relationship. Throughout the book i think the author is really good at keeping your interest because every chapter ends with something big and it just wants you to keep reading. The writing in the book is also well done which helps you keep interest.

Question : What do you think happened to Parker at the party she went to. If something happened to you and someone was worried and wanted to help you out, would you tell them?
